Summary

Reporting to the Chairperson for the Department of Educational Leadership, the Coordinator for Recruitment, Enrollment, and Partnerships (CREP) is a full-time administrative position in the Department of Educational Leadership (EDLR). The CREP will support the graduate programs in Higher Education (HIED) and Educational Leadership (ELAD), coordinate offsite programs, and support partnerships for the Department of Educational Leadership.
The CREP will be responsible for the general HIED Program administration, admissions, student advisement and development, preparation of course schedules, fieldwork placements, outreach to prospective students, recruitment of students, enrollment management, student retention, program development, and alumni relations. In the ELAD Program, the CREP will have these same responsibilities for the Offsite Program. Additional ELAD duties include helping students with internship placements, and development and sustenance of relationships with school districts.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities
  • Serve as an academic advisor to students.
  • Collaborate with Montclair State University Network for Educational Renewal (MSUNER) to identify ways for ELAD to serve MSUNER partnership schools.
  • Develop HIED course schedules in collaboration with Department Chair, Graduate Program Coordinators (GPCs), faculty and staff in the department.
  • Monitor projected course enrollments of students to determine course schedule needs.
  • Work on the operational, logistical, and programmatic aspects of external partnerships and offsite programs.
  • Enroll Offsite Program students in classes.
  • In concert with Offsite and Special Programs, coordinate outreach and visit school districts, community colleges, private and public organizations, and undergraduate programs to build and sustain prospective student interest in our HIED and ELAD programs.
  • Plan and run orientations for external partnerships and offsite programs.
  • Continuously identify and evaluate competitor institution program trends.
  • Compile and analyze comparison trends with other institutions for marketing comparisons and/or offsite programs and external partnerships.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Serve as first point of contact for prospective students.
  • Lead student retention efforts.
  • Follow up with prospective students and candidates with incomplete applications.
  • Work on growing external partnerships and offsite program offerings for the department and its programs.
  • Management retains the right to add or change job duties at any time.
  • Manage and update the HIED Program and ELAD Offsite webpages.
  • Coordinate HIED Capstone Orientations and Conferences in collaboration with capstone instructors and department faculty.
  • Work closely with faculty, staff, and the College of Education and Engaged Learning Director of Strategic Partnerships and Community Engagement and the Office for Offsite and Special Programs on identifying and launching potential new offsite locations, the continued development of current offsite locations, and the diversification of programs offered at existing offsite locations.
  • In collaboration with the Graduate Program Coordinator (GPC), host and coordinate all HIED and ELAD Offsite recruitment and attend all university-sponsored recruitment events, including Open House.
  • Identify opportunities for growth of program offerings and partnerships with private organizations, including but not limited to, corporate and nonprofit entities.
  • Establish liaison and coordinate with various stakeholders to develop offsite and international program offerings.
  • Support the cultivation and development of partnerships across Montclair State University to strengthen HIED and ELAD programs.
  • Manage graduate applications and enter decisions in a timely manner.
  • Support marketing and recruitment initiatives to increase student enrollment.
  • Identify opportunities for partnerships with private organizations, including but not limited to, corporate and nonprofit entities.
  • Develop and maintain a database of alumni. Cultivate relationships with program alumni, manage program alumni relations, and develop program alumni events.

Qualifications
REQUIRED:
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement partnerships with various programs, divisions, and departments at postsecondary institutions, private, public, and charter preK-12 schools as well as other organizations and entities to build student pipelines for the HIED and ELAD programs to support the growth of the programs.
  • Minimum of three years of professional experience in an administrative capacity in a PreK-12 school or higher education setting or similar setting.
  • Ability to provide leadership, visioning, and strategic direction.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead successful marketing and recruitment efforts, as well as admissions, student advisement and development, coordination of fieldwork placement, and program administration.
  • Master’s degree from accredited college or university in relevant field.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities, building positive, collaborative and productive relationships, and excellent organizational skills.
Preferred
  • Strong presentation skills and an ability to work with and communicate effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and skills.
  • Entrepreneurial and enterprising ability with a record of growing enrollment and developing new partnerships and program pipelines.
  • Professional experience as an administrator in higher education and/or preK-12.
  • Creative and dynamic leadership as well as sound decision-making, organization, research, and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diversity of stakeholders.
  • Excellent public speaking skills.
