Controller Jobs

Our client, a rapidly expanding Transportation/Logistics company located near the Woodbridge, NJ area is currently seeking to add on a Controller that will report directly to the VP of Finance. This is a great opportunity as the company continues to grow, and open new locations across the country. The VP of Finance would love someone who started their career in public accounting and then went into Private. Having industry experience would be extremely helpful.

The Controller will be responsible for but not limited too:

• Execute monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP

• Analyze financial information and report on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)

• Ensure corporate accounting policies, procedures, and controls are followed when working with business partners and be able to provide support on special requests

• Aid in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

• Formulate Balance Sheet account reconciliations

• Allocate and prepare monthly consolidated P&L and Balance Sheet flux analysis reports for management

• Strong interest in continuously improving the automation of the accounting and reporting process

• Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
• Comprehensive knowledge of month end closing
• Must have strong time management skills.
• Familiarity with technology companies and revenue recognition in this particular organization
• Detailed, flexible, and organized
• Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
• BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred.
• Transportation/Logistics Industry experience
• Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Public Accounting Experience highly preferred
