Job Description
Controller We are looking for a Controller to join our team and help lead our accounting, finance, and operational activities. The Controller will be responsible for the accuracy of financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and regulatory requirements, developing and managing budgets, managing the company's financial activities, overseeing the company’s internal controls and audit processes, and providing support to other departments. Responsibilities: Develop and manage budgets for multiple departments Prepare monthly financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP Ensure accuracy of financial statements and reports by performing account reconciliations Oversee accounts payable/receivable processes and ensure compliance with applicable laws Monitor cash flow, investments, taxes, payrolls, etc. Establish internal control procedures to ensure accurate record keeping Lead audit processes in coordination with external auditors Review contracts related to finance matters Provide support to other departments as needed
REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION: • Bachelor’s degree in accounting. • Certified Public Accounting (C.P.A) designation preferred. • Five to eight years similar or related experience in public accounting or financial services. • Detailed knowledge of Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). • Excellent communication and organizational skills. • Pleasant outgoing personality. • Cash handling experience. • Ability to perform under pressure. • Thorough knowledge of Credit Consumer laws. • Knowledge of all laws and regulations regarding this position. • Excellent analytical skills. • Ability to sell. • Team player. • Knowledge of credit union operations. • Computer knowledge. • Decision making skills.
