About The Job
We are one of the oldest Bobcat Dealers in the country, is seeking an experienced, highly organized, and meticulous Multi-Store Accountant/Controller to join the team at our Rome, GA location. We currently operate 7 Dealerships across Georgia & Alabama and continue to grow, with an 8th opening. We represent the Bobcat and Kubota Brands - offering customers Construction equipment, Agricultural Equipment, and Turf equipment. We are a full line dealership with Sales, Rental, Service, and Parts.
  • You will monitor accounting transactions to ensure they are properly recorded, review A/R and A/P aging, provide direction and assistance with collections, ensure vendor payments, customer invoicing, warranty claims are processed accurately and in a timely manner, and resolve discrepancies with vendor statements.
  • You will also ensure the floor plan is properly managed by paying off machines, monitoring terms, and due units.
  • As a Multi-Store Accountant/Controller, you will be responsible for all aspects of the financial side of the dealership.
  • The ideal candidate will have proven industry experience as an accountant, preferably in a senior role.
In addition to the above, the Multi-Store Accountant/Controller will be responsible for weekly payroll, 401k reporting, and all other Human Resource functions. You will reconcile bank statements, multi-state sales tax filings, quarterly fuel tax returns, and perform some cost analysis, internal reviews/audits of expense accounts. You will perform periodic audits on freight, sub-contractor & vendor insurance certificates, vehicle registrations, analyze vendor purchase price variances, assist with floor plan audits, ensure compliance with 1099 regulations, and reconcile vendor statements to the G/L.
You will manage the month-end close process, including dealership reviews, month-end entries, preparation, and distribution of financial statements for designated responsibility. You will ensure intercompany accounts are balanced and assist in the reconciliation and determination of items in these accounts. You will provide oversight of daily, monthly, and annual accounting transactions, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. You will maintain internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs, and both team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures. You will develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow. You will also oversee Company Insurance and Registration requirements, including Health Insurance, Liability insurance, Vehicle Registration, Etc.
  • Great problem-solving abilities and excellent organizational skills are also essential.
  • Experience with Dealer Management Software, preferably Basic Primus, is also desired.
  • You should have 5+ years of experience as a senior-level accounting or finance manager, with industry and dealership experience being preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; an advanced degree or CPA is a plus.
  • You should have a strong work ethic, a high level of integrity, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • You should have strong computer aptitude, including expertise with Microsoft Excel, as well as strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
The position offers a Monday through Friday schedule, from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Compensation will be based on education and experience.
