Job Description

We are currently seeking a Controller with experience in the construction industry, located in Miami, FL.

Job Summary

The Controller is responsible for managing and supervising all aspects of financial accounting, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing. Also, will report to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and provides them with a copy of the monthly financial statements.


Responsibilities


  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement initiatives to streamline financial operations and enhance efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and manage all tax-related matters, including the preparation and submission of tax returns and coordinating with external tax advisors.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Facilitate timely communication with project managers to ensure accuracy of job costs and oversee job accounting.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Prepare Daily Cash Report and any other reports as needed by senior management.
  • Assure the timely collection of receivables from clients.
  • Support senior management with financial insights and strategic recommendations to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Prepare company overhead budgets and any other financial report that may be useful to senior management.
  • Review and approve payroll prior to processing.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related.
  • Knowledge and working experience with SAGE software required.
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in Construction or General Contracting industry.
  • Possess comprehensive understanding and expertise in the field of financial statements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
