Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and/or participate in special projects/assignments as required
  • Produce required contractual documents meeting expectations of timeliness and quality
  • Draft and negotiate administrative service agreements for customers. Explain the company's position and rationale on contract terms (legal business and financial) and develop appropriate compromises in contract language while maintaining compliance with legal and business requirements, relevant policies and laws/regulations
  • Communicate risk and explain contract language and terminology appropriately to sales and other business partners
  • Apply systems and technology to administer the contracting process
  • Maintain contracts and manage multiple contract priorities for a complex customer caseload

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in customer-facing contracting
  • 5+ years of experience in health care insurance with proficiency in business operations
  • BA/BS degree or previous experience in contract negotiations

  • Demonstrated solid project management, analysis and teamwork skills
  • Proven excellent written, verbal and presentations skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work well independently utilizing good judgment and decision-making skills
  • Proven solid organizational and administrative skills
  • Demonstrated ability in expressing ideas and influencing others and building consensus among many stakeholders
  • Proven solid people management skills; clear and honest communication practices; ability to communicate and work well with people at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability and desire to work in a highly dynamic fast-paced environment, within tight deadlines while quickly shifting priorities, serving multiple customers and managing multiple assignments
  • Commercial health or Medicare contract experience

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
