Job Description

Adecco has partnered with a global manufacturing leader to recruit and hire a Continuous Improvement Engineer for their facility located just 30 minutes south of Clarksville, TN


The Continuous Improvement Engineer will be responsible for initiating and driving Continuous Improvement activities that improve performance and efficiency. This includes collecting production data, analyzing outputs, and determining corrective courses of action to promote safety, quality, and efficiency.


As a Continuous Improvement Engineer, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Driving process improvements, efficiency, cost reduction, product quality and safety improvements
  • Analyzing current production data and determining options for improvement.
  • Managing the SAP system including data reliability and product routing structures.
  • Supervising a small team of direct reports, and providing guidance to other engineers and maintenance personnel as needed.
  • Training/coaching employees on new manufacturing practices
  • Planning production workflow and equipment layout changes (using automation where possible).
  • Assisting with general production/equipment issues.
  • Leading the Integration of current manufacturing practices and concepts into the ERP system
  • Monitoring continuous improvement KPIs and analyzing trends.
  • Promoting efficiency and safety within the plant


Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems, such as SAP
  • BS in engineering (Mechanical, industrial or electrical) required.
  • Understanding of tools/concepts such as: A3s, VSM, Standard Work, 5S, Process Flow charts, etc..
  • Experience leading Lean events such as Kaizen and/or Value Stream Mapping.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience within a manufacturing setting
  • Strong background in process improvements and/or continuous improvement
  • Six Sigma certification (preferred)
  • Previous experience in metal or steel manufacturing is preferred.
