Job Overview :


The main ways we help our customers understand the ins and outs f pool and spa care is through a combination of written and visual communications across a variety of marketing channels. We are looking for a Content Writer to join us in producing engaging, helpful content for our customers. If you are a highly motivated team player who is looking to expand and enhance your skills in communications, marketing, and SEO, then you will thrive in this position.


  • Perform keyword research to identify content gaps and high traffic/low competition opportunities for new blog posts.
  • Enhance existing blog content, with particular attention to copy edits (spelling, grammar and punctuation), tone/voice consistency, search engine optimization, and improvement of visual elements (icons, photos, videos, infographics, etc.).
  • Assist with the creation of new blog content. Depending on pool knowledge background and research abilities, these posts may range from straightforward backyard lifestyle and product highlight pieces to more in-depth pool and spa tips.
  • Resolve broken links, redirects, and other basic web page errors on content pages.
  • With audience engagement always top of mind, explore opportunities for further enhancement of our content.
  • Edit and format incoming new articles to prepare them for publication on the website. Coordinate with fellow content team members and/or the graphics department for supporting visual elements.
  • Collaborate with fellow team members to fulfill content needs for brand promotions, special events/holidays, and urgent requests.
  • Provide short-form copy as needed to support team efforts for various campaigns.


Essential Competencies:


  • Thorough understanding of the English language in terms of spelling, grammar, and punctuation
  • Ability to navigate a spreadsheet
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • A can-do attitude with a willingness to learn and grow
  • Knowledge of basic copyediting programs, such as Microsoft Word or Google Docs


Qualifications:


  • At least 2 years of college-level education and professional experience in any communications field (journalism, copywriting, editing, marketing, etc.)
  • SEO familiarity or experience preferred, but not required.
  • Basic pool and spa knowledge preferred, but not required.
