Job Description
The Corporate Communications & External Affairs (CC&EA) department has a mission to educate, equip and engage key stakeholders to build good will, earn and expand the right to do business, and have a positive impact in communities around the world. To support that vision the Content & Channels Team is charged with developing and managing a network of communications channels that delivers the right content to the right audience at the right time. This role would be responsible for developing and executing that strategy to reach key external stakeholders that span community, government, non-profits, partners and other influential groups.


He/she would work closely with members of the External Affairs teams and other business partners to establish and coordinate a strategy around existing channels, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, a pressroom and a storytelling site, as well as develop a strategy for how those channels (and new channels) will evolve to support External Affairs outcomes. This individual would also work with partners across External Affairs to build systems and processes around Chick-fil-A’s Reputation Narrative this includes ensuring the narrative and other External Affairs messaging is kept up to date, accessible and useful. He/she will work to formalize a Reputation Communications Calendar to drive aligned and coordinated storytelling across the department.


He/she will also build content strategy capabilities across the department, working to understand existing practices, enhancing approaches, bringing best practices and industry trends, and building tools and resources to equip and enable the department.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with Corporate Communications & External Affairs teams to build systems and processes that allow for aligned storytelling, increased visibility and coordinated execution
  • Oversee agency partners and participate and make recommendations regarding vendor selection
  • Develop and execute a strategy to grow followers and increase engagement on channels with both internal and external audiences
  • Liaise with the legal department on Reputation Narrative and content planned for External Affairs channels
  • Leverage analytics and reputation research to inform content & channel strategies
  • Serve as a thought partner on content strategy and help build content strategy capabilities throughout CC&EA department
  • Build systems and processes around Chick-fil-A’s Reputation Narrative and other External Affairs messaging to equip CC&EA team and other business partners with up to date, useful, accurate messaging to reach key stakeholders
  • Manage a budget to support External Affairs content and channels, including forecasting and determining budget needs
  • Coordinate the distribution of content on External Affairs owned and partnered channels, including identifying and deploying resources where needed
  • Liaise with Chick-fil-A Operators about content on External Affairs channels
  • Monitor industry content and channel trends and translate them to Chick-fil-A business
  • Work with External Affairs teams to build a framework and reporting strategy to measure engagement and provide actionable insights across External Affairs channels
  • Establish and support an internal ambassadorship strategy to educate, equip and engage internal audiences to be ambassadors for Chick-fil-A
  • Manage and execute a Reputation Communications Calendar that facilitates aligned storytelling across Corporate Communications & External Affairs
  • Work with External Affairs team members and other business partners to build and execute a collaboration model to support External Affairs channels (both owned and not owned by CC&EA)
  • Recommend how channels should evolve or new channels should be introduced to meet External Affairs outcomes
  • Establish, coordinate and support a strategy around External Affairs channels and partner with the Reputation Communications and PR Brand Teams to ensure channels are used to support External Affairs goals and outcomes, including reaching key stakeholders that span community, government, non-profits, partners and other influential groups


Minimum Qualifications


  • Leading cross-functional projects with various internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborating across teams and with business partners to reach business outcomes
  • Building systems, processes, and tools to enable coordination and aligned storytelling across multiple teams
  • Experience leveraging technology to solve communications challenges
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, manage complexity, influence without formal authority, and prioritize competing tasks with varied timelines
  • Leveraging analytics and research to create insights to drive content and channel strategies
  • Skilled at translating data and analytics into actionable insights that demonstrate business value with internal stakeholders
  • Managing agency partners and/or teams
  • Developing content and messaging intended to protect and enhance the reputation of a brand or company with internal and external stakeholders
  • Managing editorial calendars and processes to facilitate coordinated storytelling across separate communications functions
  • Excellent storyteller with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Influencing business partners and senior leaders
  • Managing strategy and overseeing external digital communications platforms
  • Forward thinking with the ability to balance short-term and long-term goals
  • Ability to drive for results, while maintaining strong relationships
  • Leading and directing content across multiple external digital platforms, including but not limited to social platforms
  • Proven success growing organic followers and engagement with external channels


Preferred Qualifications


  • Leading and developing content strategies with aligned success metrics
  • Experience with enterprise partners, including Brand Strategy and/or Media teams, Public Affairs, Government Relations, Corporate Social Responsibility, Sustainability and/or Corporate Communications
  • Experience in project management and innovation
  • Developing search engine optimization, paid social strategies and/or earned media strategies
