About The Role


We are looking for a skilled Content Development Manager to join our team within the Product organization of Professional Learning. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, recruiting, and managing subject matter experts who will contribute to our content creation efforts. You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with these experts, providing them with guidance and editing support throughout the content development process to ensure content meets high standards of quality. Additionally, you will be responsible for curating and/or licensing content from various sources and forming content partnerships. This role requires a deep understanding of the content production process as well as excellent communication, relationship management, and project management skills.


How You Will Make An Impact


  • Collaborate with the content team to ensure all content is aligned with the organization’s overall strategy and goals.
  • Work with stakeholders in legal, product, and finance around contracts and payments
  • Monitor content performance metrics and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Assist experts and production personnel in content production
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices related to content acquisition and curation.
  • Assist in identifying gaps in the content catalog and develop a plan to fill those gaps.
  • Curate content from internal sources and negotiate content licensing agreements with external content providers.
  • Develop and execute content strategy to identify, recruit and manage content contributors, including subject matter experts, authors, and thought leaders.
  • Identify, recruit, and onboard subject matter experts and content creators to create a range of content including articles, podcasts, and/or videos for assessment products (such as Everything DiSC) and learning programs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with content partners including contributors, organizations, and other entities to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality content.
  • Manage and maintain a content calendar that reflects the priorities and objectives of the organization.

  • 4+ years of experience in content development and acquisition
  • Understanding of content licensing and copyright/IP laws
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or related field
  • Familiarity with critical organizational initiatives such as hybrid work, DEI, continuous transformation, etc

The target base pay range for this position is $82k to $116k. This range represents Wiley’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the base pay for this role at the time of posting. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall within the range, however, the ultimate salary offered for this role may be higher or lower and will be set based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to geographic location, skills, and competencies.
