What is the Opportunity?


The Content Manager for US Cash Management will have accountability for all aspects of content strategy and content creation for this new business. Content strategy and creation will be a critical building block for the business, driving and informing our thought leadership, marketing, and go-to-market activities. This role will be responsible for identifying, fostering, structuring, and executing relationships (both internal and external) that contribute to content creation. This role will work directly with the Head of Business Development and Partnerships and will liaise across many other verticals such as product, compliance, sales and technology. It will also play a strategic part in our product roadmap of the future.


This leader will be a content creator and manager who utilizes available resources to showcase RBC Cash Management and understands the trends, challenges and opportunities while building trust with our target audiences. A deep knowledge of the Cash Management space is critical to the role while maximizing the use of earned, shared, and owned media to advance our story.


What will you do?


  • Create content for awards applications and conference speaking engagements
  • Create thought leadership content on key topics for the business (e.g., payments, cloud, APIs)
  • Manage placements in publications either through media buys, sponsorships, or partnerships
  • Create content that showcases how the organization can be a strategic business partner, not just a financial institution
  • Create and manage content that showcases our expertise in specific industries (consumer, tech, energy, industrial)
  • Working with freelancers or agencies to help develop content
  • May also have input on additional content such as: Webinar topics, SEO data, Tradeshow/Event presentations and Product development/launches
  • Partnering with Marketing and LOB leadership to understand business priorities related to content topics and strategy
  • Pulling in 3rd party data as available (web traffic, SEO data, etc.…)
  • Focusing all content creation on a basic STAR principle of: Strategic, Transparent, Actionable and Real-time
  • Partner with PR to help amplify key business leaders
  • Working with team members tracking KPIs
  • Can also play a role in website copy, campaign planning, trade show and sponsorship opportunities
  • Working with team members to develop copy and determine various distribution opportunities
  • Main content formats include but not limited to: Thought Leadership articles (long form or short form), Infographics, Videos, Whitepapers, Webinars and Case Studies


What do you need to succeed?


  • Excellent listening and communication skills (both verbal and written), and executive presence
  • Ability to inspire and influence others without direct management responsibility
  • Demonstrated thought leadership and the aptitude to think creatively and identify new ways to innovate and differentiate products with evidence of tangible business results
  • At least 10-12 years’ of content development and financial services/technology/cash management sector expertise; who can identify specific content needs and strategic goals
  • High levels of learning agility with a real interest in the Fintech ecosystem and a ‘technology / digital-first’ approach
  • Ability to influence/operate effectively across a matrixed organization (functions & geography) to drive positive outcomes
  • Demonstrated success in driving revenue acceleration with new product offerings
  • Should be an excellent, creative thinker and problem solver
  • Diversity of thought and experience as well as a desire to continually seek new perspectives and feedback, take an inclusive approach, and engage diverse points of view
  • Demonstrated skill in gaining credibility with and respect of high-performing leaders within and outside the organization
  • Financial/payment industry knowledge required
  • Ability to explain complex business and technical concepts to broad audiences in an approachable way to influence and drive adoption

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $150,000 - $200,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
