JOB MISSION:

As a member of North America Consumer Insights team, within North America Marketing, this role will focus on bringing the consumer to life in order bring cohesion and understanding to our North America regional market and beyond. This individual will help drive Running research with consumers, spanning primary and secondary sources for the North America region. Preferably, you have a strong understanding of retail/footwear and/or Running to positively impact the Running business for New Balance North America. Regional nuance is complex, this job will require an individual who immerses themselves in understanding regional needs and strategies to help direct the global team.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • The Analyst will help to encourage customer-centric decision making by educating, informing and guiding the application of insights by key stakeholders across the organization.
  • Management our syndicated research platforms – maintaining the platform, pulling relevant data for internal teams to bring consumer data to life, creating PowerPoint presentations with relevant data to present to internal teams, managing any updates or fixes to the platform with IT.
  • Build relationships across the company in order to understand the business, their objectives, and how North America Consumer Insights can bring consumer insights to support.
  • Focus on commercial aspect of business, to fully understand regional needs, gaps, opportunities and improvements on go-to-market (GTM) plans.
  • Support in primary quantitative and qualitative market research such as helping manage research vendors, projects, and timelines, quality assurance, analyzing survey data, support in drafting activities and/or creating insightful consumer insights presentations.
  • Create easily consumable, visualized reports of customer research and metrics for key stakeholders and executives with actionable insight that influence decision-making within New Balance
  • Keep on top of industry trends and key consumer insights
  • Reporting to the NA Consumer Insights Manager, this Analyst will be an integral part of the expanding North America Consumer Insights team.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

  • We are looking for a team-oriented, skilled researcher and data storyteller
  • Demonstrated success in translating research findings and data analyses into actionable strategies through strong storytelling and PowerPoint/design skills
  • Preferably, a strong interest in and knowledge of the retail/footwear industry, and/or Running
  • Strong analytical abilities and data storytelling, including use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Solid understanding and knowledge of software applications used to extract data from syndicated sources (such as NPD, etc.), with a desire to learn and expand skillset
  • Proactive self-starter with ability to work independently and creatively solve problems
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a strong attention to detail
  • Minimum 2-3+ years of Market research or Data analytics experience – Preferably within the retail industry or sports industry
  • Intellectual curiosity: you have an innate desire to learn concepts and ask thoughtful questions
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and creating processes in complex environments to drive customer centric thinking.
  • Experience working with a broad range of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies (surveys, online communities, focus groups)
  • Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment
