The Consultant I position is primarily responsible for helping clients plan and implement their new website or rollout of any CP platform from inception through solution roll-outs. This position will need to have an understanding of our clients business needs, ensuring effective design in future processes, organizational changes, programs and product solutions to make government work better.


We’re excited to hire a new Consultant I who can:

  • Effectively collaborate with various departments and personnel, both externally and internally
  • Manage a travel schedule and actively participate in the department team meetings and activities
  • Document findings and generate reports that ensure clear direction for client and Project Teams
  • Stay informed of current issues/bugs as well as new functionality within the CMS
  • Work with the CivicPlus Project Teams to provide guidance and thought leadership to the client in order to help ensure a successful experience for both sides
  • Create and help execute improvement plans adapted to our client environment
  • Learn and utilize our Content Management System and advise others of solutions that can be accomplished using the product
  • Up-sell clients on our various solutions, which could include: website redesigns, process improvements, training/development, town hall meeting facilitation.
  • Consult with new and current clients on our Content Management System (CMS) and its practices through on-site visits, phone conversations, and various media including Webinars and email
  • Develop a mastery of civic organizations and their operations/constraints and how to optimize solutions
  • Analyze and discuss a client’s internal processes while engaging the client in discussions that leads to process optimization and fosters internal (client) efficiency


There is no perfect candidate, but we are looking for:

  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work well with various departments and personnel
  • Familiarity with local government entities and knowledge of their practices
  • Facilitation
  • Knowledge and ability to use Internet and Internet tools to support training and development
  • 2 years of experience as a software consultant or similar field.
  • Proven experience solving complex problems by analyzing and piecing together information to create a clear and concise solution
