Job Description

We are looking for a salesperson to grow our KS/MO/AR/OK Floor Underlayment and Elevated Concrete Division (CIS DIV 03 50 Cast Decks and Underlayment). The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a competitive nature that enjoys building relationships, problem solving and strategic thinking.

Nettles Construction Solutions specializes in the installation of gypsum underlayment - elevated concrete balconies and breezeways, cellular concrete engineered fills and roof deck systems. Our operations cover 8 states with an annual revenue of $25 million. We are a growing company with a fun, casual, family atmosphere and a fast-paced working environment.   • Starting Salary $70,000 - $90,000, plus an annual commission-based bonus with the potential to earn an additional $30,000.00-$100,000.00 and beyond.

Education/Experience

  • Experience in the commercial construction industry a plus; preferably in multi-family, hospitality, senior living (wood-framed) construction or flooring.
  • Experience with construction take-off & estimating a plus
  • Field experience or exposure a plus
  • Commercial construction sales experience, with high school diploma/GED or bachelor’s degree in a construction related field
  • Business to business sales experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ability to find appropriate uses for material that will require offering and selling voluntary alternates to clients and project designers to successfully negotiate work
  • Able to work independently, while also working in a strong team environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organization, problem solving skills
  • Able to handle multiple assignments simultaneously and maintain excellent client relations
  • Analyze plans and specs, reports, maps, drawings and other technical data to correctly estimate, bid and win projects
  • Help develop and execute the Floor Division Sales Plan
  • Prepare project scope of work, cost proposals, and review contracts
  • Attend trade shows and other association meetings to stay abreast of market conditions, competition, and establish relationships with existing clients and new prospects
  • Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with industry professionals to generate new business opportunities
  • Traveling to worksites and sales opportunities throughout the Midwest
  • Provide ongoing progress updates on new business development activities and other key indicators to the management team
  • Coordinate project-handoff with the project manager and operations team

Physical Requirement

  • Employee required to work on a computer on a regular basis for continuous periods of time
  • Employee required to walk considerable distances in the facility and on job sites
  • Employee required to remain in a seated position for continuous periods of time
  • Employee required to raise or lower objects from one level to another occasionally during the day, 5 to 15 pounds.
