Job Description

Tampa Bay's award-winning health food cafe for best acai, juices, and smoothies; Grain and Berry, is looking for an experienced Managing Partner for the South Tampa and Clearwater locations!


The newly hired Partner will inherit strong performing operational teams at both locations, allowing for focus on continuous improvement in sales, customer satisfaction, community engagement, and operations. The qualified GM will report directly to franchise ownership and run the restaurants as if they are their own – a forward thinker; making sound short and long-term business decisions and being committed to the success of everyone around them.


The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of building sales via traditional marketing, community outreach, and creating a consistent pipeline of catering and event orders.


Must be experienced with team member and leadership coaching/development with a track record of building leadership teams from within. Our employees are the lifeline to our customers. They are our first priority and the leader of our stores must possess a passion for creating a great experience for our customers via our employees.


The following responsibilities will fall under the manager’s ownership/oversight:


  • Escalate all costly maintenance issues to ownership in a prompt manner
  • Provide timely response (within 24 hrs) to customer complaints and feedback
  • Ensure all store equipment, fixtures, and furniture is kept in good working order
  • Maintain Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) within pre-defined thresholds
  • Proactively solicit for event and catering opportunities
  • Other responsibilities as needed
  • Interact and build rapport with customers, especially regulars
  • Create and execute long-term action plan to improve financials
  • Understand each team member's goals and define a plan to help them achieve
  • Order employee uniforms and restaurant supplies
  • Actively coach and guide team to achieve stronger results (continuous improvement)
  • Maintain labor rates within pre-defined thresholds
  • Set team goals and individual goals that contribute to the team goals
  • Implement workarounds and provide team coaching to maintain smooth operations during system downtime.
  • Determine effective and efficient community outreach campaigns
  • Manage employee performance reviews
  • Identify capital improvements and provide recommendations to ownership
  • Hire, onboard, train, coach, and terminate employees
  • Manage health inspection process as well as employee certifications
  • Cultivate a warm, welcoming atmosphere in the restaurant by providing direction to staff and actively coaching, when necessary
  • Create and manage employee recognition program
  • Provide direction to team in order to meet standards of customer service, cleanliness, quality, safety, efficiency, etc.
  • Identify marketing opportunities and provide recommendations to ownership
  • Manage Month End Inventory
  • Order all perishable, non-perishable, and paper/plastic goods
