The Airport Design & Construction (ADC) Department is looking for an experienced Construction Safety Program Manager. The selected candidate will be responsible for the overall management for integrating comprehensive Authority-wide construction safety programs, services for capital improvement and major maintenance projects, which may include Airport Master Plan Program projects and;
  • Develops, implements, and maintains written construction safety programs in compliance with state, federal, and local guidelines and regulation; recommends appropriate procedures, standards, and guidelines related to Authority’s construction safety, injury and illness prevention programs, workers’ compensation programs; develops project safety plan based on the scope and risk of specific projects.
  • Provides safety related training on reporting requirements, methods and report writing, recommends and implements remedial measures to prevent recurrences.
  • Reviews the safety program performance and safety performance on construction projects; updates programs as needed to ensure compliance with regulatory mandates and current professional practices.
  • Plans, develops, and implements Authority-wide and specialized training programs in support of Authority’s all Facilities Development Department Capital Improvement and major maintenance projects, ensures that the program initiatives protect airport staff, contractors and the traveling public at construction sites.
  • Conducts accident investigations and injury, illness, and accident reports to ensure all casual factors have been identified and reported; collects relevant data through observation, testing, and interviewing; analyzes potential causes of accidents and injuries; prepares responsive and required reports.

Requirements
Required Education, Training and Experience:
  • Possess current qualifications in First Aid, Adult CPR and AED, as well as Blood-borne Pathogens.
  • Equivalent combination of training and experience, through OSHA classes.
  • OSHA 500 Course in Trainer Course in Occupational Safety & Health Standards for the Construction Industry.
  • OSHA 511 Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the General Industry
  • OSHA 510 Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry
  • 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification required.
  • A valid Class C California driver’s license and the ability to maintain insurability under the Authority’s vehicle insurance policy.
  • Five years of experience in developing, implementing, and managing safety programs, accident prevention, loss control and/or risk management.
  • Four years of direct experience developing and implementing a comprehensive construction safety and loss prevention programs related to airport operations, engineering and construction.
  • Six years of construction experience.
  • Must be a current Authorized OSHA Outreach Construction Industry Instructor
  • Bachelor’s Degree in occupational safety, loss control, risk management or related field.
The starting hiring range for this position is $95,843.
Pay range for this role is $80,372 to $132,613.
