Job Description

The Construction Landscape Project Manager will lead installation projects from bid stage to close-out in the areas of planning, field supervision, punch lists, client relations, vendor relations. This position is a front facing role, involving a proactive approach to collaborating with account managers, designers, and clientele to actualize their vision through proper planning and/or architectural renderings. Qualified candidates will possess a background in landscape construction project management, strong computing skills, and a record of customer service. Positive attitude to assure all activities result in compliance with contract specifications, budgets, and client expectations.


  • Present proposals to customers and negotiate customer contract. This may be done individually, or as a team approach with account manager.
  • Build customer base with new and existing clients, identify prospective customers and serve as the initial contact to determine viability and desirability of a targeted account.
  • Participate in property walkthroughs, note needs and communicate relevant services and prices. Prepare estimates, proposals, and presentations.
  • Assist in developing and implementing marketing strategies aimed at attracting projects that will allow the company to deliver top quality work.
  • The primary goal of the Landscape Construction Manager is to develop and capture new business.
  • Actively educate and sell other company services to customers and build relationships that will foster referrals.

General Duties:

  • Monitor progress and deliver field reports to general contractor, account managers and clients
  • Conduct final walkthrough with client to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Implement the tasks of multiple field crews for landscape construction projects
  • Conduct pre-construction meetings with property owner, operations manager, field staff and subcontractors.
  • Present a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
  • Effectively communicate progress on landscape projects to company management, sales, design, and field staff.
  • Keep staff informed of invoicing schedule for landscape projects and manage billing to reflect actual job progress and monitor collections.
  • Generate punch list items, coordinate scheduling of materials and labor
  • Understand urgency of and adhere to effectively processing change orders.
  • Ensure that all extras added to a job are documented, approved by project owner, and billed accordingly.
  • Review timesheets (electronic)
  • Maintain open communication, advise and assist estimating during the bidding phase
  • Order and conduct inspections as required by municipal authorities
  • Foster strong relationships with new and existing clients, responding to client concerns in a timely manner
  • Supervise installation of projects on site during install.
  • Manage jobs, personnel and supplies to maximize efficiencies
  • Draft and distribute detail sheets
  • Work within deadlines and budget
  • Ensure crews adhere to company safety standards and wear proper PPE
  • Follow up with clients after job is completed. Monitor call backs and warranty work, keeping proper records for additional work.
  • Analyze designs and complete take-offs for estimating purposes, project lead times
  • Understand the client and design expectations, and inform field supervisors about the project requirements as well as oversee field operations in conjunction with field supervisor.
  • Maintain or improve relationships with vendors, contractors, landscape architects and other prominent figures.
  • Serve as the customer liaison at all times.
  • Schedule awarded jobs by scheduling workforce, equipment and deliverables
  • Approve completion of job, collect all invoicing details to be turned into billing department.
  • Coordinate and track subcontractor work.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years Landscape Installation experience in a supervisory role (Required). Minimum of 3 years leading multiple crews and projects
  • Computers: Proficiency in Word, Excel, Gmail, iOS devices; Aspire, Go iLawn, or Google Earth (required) Create and maintain job files
  • Expertise: Advanced understanding of landscape operations, including grading, drainage, planting, irrigation, masonry, carpentry and lighting (Required).
  • Languages: English-Spanish Bilingual (Preferred).
  • Education: Degree/Certificate in Construction, Landscape, Horticulture or related field (preferred).
  • Equipment: Knowledgeable in safety and operation of general landscape equipment such as skid loaders, backhoes, Ditch Witch, and chainsaws, (Required).

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate company resources;
  • Ability to manage landscape construction team to meet or exceed company production rates;
  • Ability to read architectural drawings and layout products based on the design;
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment;
  • Ability to manage invoicing operations and proficiency with landscape operations paperwork;
  • Horticultural, masonry and drainage knowledge;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
