GenomeWeb’s Precision Medicine Leaders’ Summit conference series is seeking an Event Content Producer to help support and grow our in-person and virtual events business.
We are seeking someone with a background in life science event content development to lead event programming and manage speakers for our portfolio of high-quality precision medicine conferences.
The Event Content Producer will work closely with the Senior Director of Events and GenomeWeb editorial management to produce compelling programs for virtual events, custom webinars, thought-leader roundtables, receptions, and multi-day in-person conferences.
Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain an in-house speaker database.
  • Work with the Senior Director of Events and GenomeWeb editorial management to research, plan, and execute event programming and book speakers for in-person and virtual events.
  • Assist in speaker recruitment for editorially driven panel discussion topics and sponsored webinars.
  • Work closely with GenomeWeb marketing team to expand social media presence and community-building campaigns for PMLS events.
  • Ensure that all event-related content adheres to GenomeWeb’s editorial guidelines.
  • Write/edit abstracts and other conference-related copy for event marketing, sponsorship sales teams, and social media promotion.
  • Identify and recruit speakers and manage all speaker relations and outreach for in-person and virtual events. This includes invitations, communications, scheduling, travel arrangements, and securing and editing content deliverables (abstracts, bios, presentation decks).
  • Moderate webinars and panel discussions as needed.
  • Oversee post-event video editing process to ensure quality of on-demand session recordings.
  • Provide support for all speaker-related logistics leading up to events and on event days.
Basic Qualifications
  • A minimum of three years of experience in life science event content planning, or equivalent experience (science journalism experience will be considered, in addition PR company experience in the life science arena will be considered).
  • Familiarity with the life science event competitive landscape.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once under tight and constant deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to write and edit promotional copy for an expert life science audience.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel to events to provide on-site support.
  • Relevant BA/BS
Preferences
  • Proficiency in team collaboration tools such as Slack and Zoom
  • The preferred candidate will have experience in content development and/or speaker booking in the genomics or precision medicine fields.
  • Experience in video production.
  • Familiarity with Cvent, On24, or other virtual event platform.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite, Excel, and/or project management tools (Smartsheet, Asana, Monday).
This position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Pay Transparency Disclosure:
The estimated salary range for this position is $50,000 to $80,000.
The final salary offering will take into account a wide range of factors, including experience, accomplishments and location. The salary range provided should not be considered as a salary limit or cap. In addition to base salary, Crain also offers competitive benefits including retirement plan savings contributions and bonus opportunities based on individual and company performance.
