Coordinate and implement dynamic community events, based on needs identified in the hospital’s Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) and other hospital priorities. Nurture relationships with hospital staff, community leaders, local health and social service organizations and the general community at large. Events include community education, health screenings, health fairs, speaking requests from local organizations and other ongoing partnership engagements.
Essential Job Functions
- Plans, develops and coordinates health education programs for community groups. This includes coordination of classes, fees, space/rooms, class materials, equipment and instructors. Evaluates the effectiveness impact of programs, including tracking and reporting outcomes measures and implements quality assurance measures to ensure programming meets high standards in both content and presentation.
- Represents hospital at numerous community events and on various community task forces and committees.
- Serves as key hospital representative for select community partnerships, including identifying opportunities to collaborate and connect, organize and oversee wellness programming and other elements of ongoing relationship management.
- Maintains cooperative working relationships with hospital staff and physicians and community partners to facilitate communication and enhance quality of services provided.
- In conjunction with Community Impact & Engagement team, develops new programs and educational offerings. Supports employee engagement initiatives and implements health education/wellness programs.
- Monitors adherence to department budgets as related to assigned areas.
- Maintains educational materials in various hospital locations or resource centers.
- Creates and maintains accurate stakeholder databases, event calendars and attendee rosters as needed.
Education, Experience & Licensure
Level of Education Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a healthcare related field or five+ years of experience in event planning or community event involvement in lieu of education
Minimum Length and Nature of Experience Required:
- 3 – 5 years of experience preferred in building community partnerships
License and/or Certification Required:

Special Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Ability to work flexible hours when needed and perform other tasks as assigned
- Ability to prioritize and problem-solve with tact
- Ability to present to large and small groups, leading group discussions and chairing various committees
- Proven ability to work in a team environment and multi-task various projects
- Knowledge of Excel, Word and Power Point
- Strong organizational skills
- A high level of computer skills to compile data groupings, spreadsheets and presentations
- Strong presentation skills
