Job Description

Troy Consulting is seeking a 100% remote experienced Community Manager to foster an open and inclusive environment where game developers can connect, collaborate, and support each other along game development's fun and sometimes difficult parts. You’ll be responsible for building and nurturing community activations that encourage knowledge sharing, inspiration, and growth within the game development community.

Responsibilities:

Community Engagement & Growth:

  • Organize and host digital and in-person community events such as webinars, Q&A sessions, workshops, and meetups to foster connections and knowledge sharing.
  • Develop and implement community engagement strategies to build and maintain a vibrant, inclusive, and productive community of game developers.
  • Monitor and analyze community interactions and behaviors to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for community growth.

Communication & Moderation

  • Promote a positive culture of respect and inclusivity within the community, and create and enforce community guidelines to maintain a safe and respectful environment.
  • Partner with agencies to manage community communications across various platforms (Forums, social media, newsletters, etc.) ensuring timely responses to questions and feedback.
  • Identify community-led projects we can promote within Owned and Operated channels.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Advocacy

  • Collaborate with internal SMEs and Marketing Managers to align community activities with broader product goals and initiatives.
  • Advocate for the community internally, bringing user feedback, concerns, and insights to internal Subject Matter Experts who can.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of online community platforms such as Discord, Github, Twitter, and YouTube
  • Ability to interact effectively with diverse developers and internal stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, Marketing, Game Development, or equivalent experience
  • Proven record as a Community Manager focused on developers, gaming a plus.
  • Strong understanding of the game development process and its unique challenges
  • Passion for gaming, and a strong commitment to creating inclusive, supportive places for developers to thrive.
