Annual Salary: $50,689.60 - $65,915.20

Position Information

Under general supervision, provides support services for clients to ensure access to community health care resources and services; conducts ongoing follow up with clients to promote their health and well-being; and performs related work as required.

This is an Open Competitive/Countywide Promotional recruitment being conducted to fill a current full-time vacancy in the Washoe County Health District. The list established from this recruitment may be used to fill future vacancies as they occur.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from high school or possession of a General Education Development (G.E.D.) Certificate and two years of experience performing a variety of duties in support of a health care function, which included providing direct client services; OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.

License Or Certificate

• A valid driver’s license is required at time of appointment.
• Community Health Worker Certification is required at time of appointment.

Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Completion of a Certified Community Health Worker course or current certification as a Certified Community Health Worker from the Nevada Certification Board
• Ability to demonstrate empathy when working with clients
• Ability to build trusting relationships with clients and community partners
• Unique knowledge of the community and its needs
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Bilingual skills preferred, but not required
