Job Summary:

The Mental Health Worker establishes a therapeutic relationship with all patients and is responsible for the overall provision and maintenance of a safe, therapeutic environment in the behavioral health unit.

Job Duties:

• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
• Closely monitors patient behaviors and intervenes as needed.
• Completes various routine unit duties. Ensures patient safety by providing continuous safety checks and 1:1 direct patient observation as needed.
• Assists patients with ADL's.
• Documents on patient activities as well as interactions with patients.
• Works under immediate supervision.
• Takes vital signs, weighs patients, and collects routine specimens.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Clearances as required by law.
• Experience with Behavioral Health populations preferred.
• Crisis Management Training must be completed within 90 days of hire.
• Current BLS
