Communications Specialist Jobs

• $37,440 annually
• Full Time/Non-Exempt
• Schedule: Must be able to work a flexible schedule; primarily five days per week, Monday through Friday with evening and weekend hours as necessary to support agency events.

Description

The Communications Specialist will assist the Communications Director with varied and integrated communication products and services, including but not limited to printed materials, electronic communications, website updates, social media, content creation, marketing, and public relations. Additional tasks involved are filming and editing of videos and some administrative duties. The Bridge seeks a highly motivated, self-starter and detail-oriented person.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Assist in updating and maintaining The Bridge’s social media presence on Instagram, Facebook,

LinkedIn, and Twitter using Hootsuite.

• Other duties as assigned.
• Collaborate closely with the Communication Director on new ideas, directions, and venues for marketing and communications.
• Video creation and editing.
• Assist in planning, writing, and managing monthly newsletter.
• Assist with press releases.
• Update website on WordPress platform.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Video editing experience; Portfolio Required
• Associate’s/Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or similar field. In lieu of degree, must have a High School Diploma/GED, plus a minimum of two years of experience working with social media/public relations.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
• Graphic design experience; Portfolio Required

Skills & Qualifications

• Working knowledge of Hootsuite, a plus.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish, a plus.
• Experience editing WordPress websites, Preferred
• Working knowledge of Classy, a plus.
• Working knowledge of Constant Contact, a plus.

Other Requirements

• Must pass criminal background investigation check
• Must pass drug screen
• Must provide and maintain current TX Driver’s License
• Must provide and maintain current auto liability insurance
• Must provide and maintain clean driving record and annually update driving record
• Must be able to lift/carry (40) lbs., and ascend/descend stairs in emergency shelter setting.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S
