Job Description
Do you want to be part of a fun, creative and passionate team doing life-changing work to help restore hope for children with critical illnesses? Are you detail-oriented, skilled at digital marketing and a solutions-oriented person who thrives in a fast-paced environment? Then Make-A-Wish Alaska and Washington has an exciting opportunity for you! We are currently hiring a full-time Communications Coordinator to join our communications and marketing team.
This position will play a pivotal role in operationalizing the organization’s digital (email and social) strategy to advance the chapter’s programmatic, brand and fundraising goals. They will also be responsible for performing important administrative tasks to support the marketing and communications team’s needs.
Day-to-day this person will work with staff members across the entire organization to create compelling copy; design and deploy best-in-class emails; and develop and execute our chapter’s social media plans. They will also provide administrative support to the marcom team to help us run efficiently and effectively.
The ideal candidate has an appetite for life-long learning given the ever-changing and rapid pace of the digital landscape. They are digital media savvy and can spot big picture trends in analytics to inform future strategy. They have strong project management and organizational skills and build positive relationships. This role is best suited for someone who can successfully work independently and as a part of a collaborative team. Excellent communication and writing skills are a must and design experience a bonus.
This will be a full-time, non-exempt employment position based out of our Seattle office, working approximately 40 hours per week which may include occasional nights and weekends. Compensation and exact level of position (coordinator or senior coordinator) will depend on experience, and goals will be adjusted to reflect experience. Salary also depends on experience but ranges from $22-$25 per hour. Make-A-Wish Alaska and Washington also offers a competitive benefits package.
