Job Description
Job Summary:
Aptive is seeking a full-time, versatile Communications Associate with demonstrated experience creating engaging content for large-scale federal social and digital media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, blog channels). To be successful in this role, this individual must use strategic communications consulting, research and storytelling to advance the goals and objectives of each campaign. The Communications Associate must also have strong customer interaction skills, a deep understanding of social media analytics and a demonstrated ability to work with various stakeholders across multiple tasks.

Experience developing and delivering compelling, informative and well written content is a requirement. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, proactive problem-solver and action-oriented team player with previous experience translating complex information into plain language. He/she must be committed to providing superior service, poised in a fast-paced environment and have a positive and flexible attitude.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Take meeting notes for digital team meeting calls every week.
  • Assist with other ad hoc requests, as requested
  • Review all social media graphics to check for accuracy, diversity and branding.
  • Upload all content to the government’s approved posting platform after content has been approved.
  • Review full content calendar with clients and manage edits that result from that review.
  • Manage a large content calendar to include identifying topics, tags, text for graphics and more.
  • Work with the creative team to identify appropriate, diverse imagery to be used on graphics.
  • Implement edits provided by clients and other team members effectively and quickly.
  • Assist with ad hoc social media reports, as needed.
  • Conduct social listening using Sprout Social, managing existing and creating new dashboards, as needed.
  • Translate complex messaging into plain language to ensure materials are easy to read, understand and use.
  • Track metrics using Sprout Social and contribute to the development of a comprehensive monthly analytics report.
  • Write content for about 4-6 posts per weekday, per month (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram).
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Ability to work onsite in Washington, D.C., as needed by client
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance
  • 5 years of related communications experience, preferably developing social media for government clients
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Experience supporting complex projects within the federal government, preferably with VA
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
