Job Description
Overview: A VISTA team member will be responsible for developing and implementing new sustainable communications campaigns to improve the agencies overall effectiveness in connection with and serving the clients, donors, and partners within the served communities. They will develop and deploy information, materials, and messages that aim to clarify the experience of those living with low income. Intended Change: As a result, MACAA will facilitate community outreach campaigns that will allow better communication with the local community, donors, and partners in the region, and promote a deeper understanding, awareness, and advocacy for anti-poverty efforts. Changes to Project Over Time: This VISTA position will begin by researching strategies and developing strategic community communication plans. Allowing for innovation and strategy adjustment, this position will advance to include storytelling initiatives, community-wide information campaigns, and participation in crafting communication plans for major fundraising and program efforts.


Member Duties : In order to educate the community regarding the conditions of poverty and improve community knowledge of MACAA, our programs, and services, the AmeriCorps team member will develop and implement communication strategies that increase awareness, positive perceptions of the agency, and increase access/use of services over time. The team member will: -Develop a comprehensive community education campaign to improve awareness and general understanding of poverty. -Improve and maintain content on MACAA's website to reflect agency programs, services, and mission. -Develop program-specific marketing/communication tools to increase awareness and access. -Maintain agency social media platforms. -Develop marketing/communication collateral for special events, campaigns, and other agency-wide initiatives. -Publish the agency's annual report. -Other tasks and responsibilities as they pertain to the comprehensive implementation of marketing/communication strategies.
