Commercial Food Service Technician (Hot-Side)

About the job:

This position is responsible for professionally and efficiently diagnosing, repairing/installing commercial food service equipment and appliances. We service almost all brands, both gas and electric for ovens, ranges, steamers, grills, fryers, combi’s, griddles, hot holding units, filtration systems, coffee machines, dish machines, broilers, blenders, tilt skillets, char-broilers, warmers, slicers and more. They will be problem solvers with a focus on safety while adapting to the fast-paced environments and unexpected changes both onsite and while the road between sites.

Responsibilities include:

• Team Player
• Follows safe work practices.
• Good interpersonal skills to build a solid report with other industry professionals, customers and supply reps.
• Assist with installs during non-traditional business hours.
• Self motivated and works well independently with limited supervision
• Safe motor vehicle operation
• Maintains a neat and orderly truck, along with a good part and tool inventory.
• Professionally communicates the service needed to customers and what to expect next.
• Ensure premier customer service
• Troubleshoot, diagnoses, repair, install commercial food service equipment and appliances

Minimum Qualifications :

• Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment with minimum one-on-one supervision.
• Establishes and maintains good partnerships with customers and teammates
• Ability to work with little direct supervision with accuracy.
• Must have effective communication skills.
• Able to work non-traditional hours with on-call days. Including but not limited to: weekends, holidays, nights, early mornings and out of town when necessary. Some overnight travel maybe required.
• A customer-focused attitude.
• Must have valid driver’s license; clean driving record preferred. Must be insurable.
• Must be able to adapt to frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.
• Will be able to analyze, ask relevant questions and solve problems.
• Positive mindset, reliable and dependable.

Education and/or Experience:

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Five (5) years of experience in food service equipment repair or related field.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with a hands-on personality.
• Willingness to learn/study quickly.
• Willing and able to use mobile technology for work tickets, email, text and online apps.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Background experience in gas, electricity, plumbing, and/or steam repairs a plus.

Compensation rate is based on experience, licensing, certifications and credentials.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• On call
• Weekends as needed
• 8-10 hour shifts usually
