Job Description
Overview


As the Collections Supervisor, you will be responsible for the development of a qualified collections team. You will also be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the activities of the department in a manner that ensures the objectives of the department will be achieved. To excel in this role, you must have strong communication, team building, and coaching skills.


Responsibilities


Responsible for the collection of all freight charges for customer accounts. Escalate account collections, remove credit, and turn account over to pre-agency collections as needed. Hold regular meetings with associates to provide direction that will enable them to resolve core issues with the Company’s past term local account customers and reduce the Company’s bad debt exposure. Responsible for the collection of all past term accounts receivable balances as directed by Collections Manager. Responsible for the reduction of bad debt write offs. Responsible for the reduction of accounts receivable balances greater than 60 days. Manage the handling of assigned large and/or strategic accounts which include collection and dispute resolution. Plan, organize, and direct the work of others to ensure quality services. Analyze data to develop and adopt an effective course of action. Responsible for making independent decisions regarding the Final Notice Process. Responsible for interacting with Sales, Service Center Managers, and senior managers daily. Initiate customer conference calls to discuss account issues and past due invoices.


Qualifications


For this role, 5 years of business and/or finance related experience and a Bachelor’s Degree is required. We prefer you have 2 years of industry related experience and previous leadership or supervisory experience.
