Cnc Turning Center Operator

JOB SUMMARY:

Operates CNC Turning Centers to machine metallic parts. At direction of Production Supervisor, may make simple setups on CNC Turning equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Meets attendance policy requirements.
• Accurately completes all required documentation.
• Maintains or exceeds production standards through efficient organization and planning.
• Contributes to team effort by assisting in areas as needed.
• Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications through the use of various inspection measuring equipment, including micrometers and veniers. Utilizes SPC charts to report variations in processes.
• Follows and complies with all safety policies and procedures.
• Performs simple, repetitive and progressive turning operations on CNC turning machines.
• In coordination with the Maintenance Department, performs preventive maintenance on CNC turning equipment.
• Maintains close and exacting tolerances and finish specifications.
• Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of and conformity with Ace Precision Quality System work instruction requirements that govern CNC turning operations.
• Proceeds under direct supervision.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), with minimum three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read English and understand sketches, routings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively communicate with employees and other Company stakeholders.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Requires the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals and fractions.

REASONING ABILITY:
Requires the use of some judgment to comply with work instructions, follow prescribed methods and make minor decisions as to setups, operations, and processes.
