Job Description

As part of a diverse and hardworking team of specialists, you will be responsible for development and modification of PC-DMIS NC programs for mill, lathes and multi axis machines for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of producing accurate programs and set-up sheets enabling first article success on tight tolerance high value parts for various spaceflight systems.
You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain configuration control on files and job records
  • Design custom tools and fixtures as needed
  • Process improvement; both machining actual inputs and administrative process changes
  • Create NC programs for CNC Mills/Lathes/Multi axis mills and Multi axis lathes/VTLs to ensure engineering requirements are met
  • Collaborate with engineers, manufacturing engineers and machinists
  • Development of machining strategy to take design data and produce machined hardware
  • Develop and manage set-up sheets
  • Safely work within an industrial environment
  • Conduct product acceptance within the guidance of the company policy
  • Provide DFMA feedback
Qualifications:
  • Must have stainless steel and aluminum experience
  • This position requires a minimum of 6 years of experience in NC programming
  • Tools fixture design
  • Excellent Communication
  • Feed and speeds calculations
  • Set-up sheet creation and management
  • The Ability to Work Either our Week Shift Nights (4x10) or Weekend Shift (3x12)
  • Individual must be self-motivating to prioritize work to meet project completion dates
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
  • Excellent blueprint reading skills including GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994 standard
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Fluent in use of precision hand tools and familiar with use of personal computers
  • Cutter selection and cutter design if needed
  • DFMA
Desired:
  • Nickel based alloys, copper, titanium experience
  • Setup and operate CNC machines
  • Vericut or other program verification software experience
  • MasterCam X7 or higher experience preferred
  • Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight critical hardware
  • Machinist experience
