TN Americas, a subsidiary of Orano USA is a leader of the American nuclear dry storage market. The company offers a complete line of products and related services to the transportation, storage, and engineering sectors operating in the fuel cycle materials market.
TN Americas is seeking a CNC Offline Programmer/Engineering Specialist to support the manufacturing work performed in its location in Kernersville, NC.
The CNC Offline Programmer/Engineering Specialist will will provide offline CNC programming and technical hands-on support to manufacturing personnel to ensure safe, on-time delivery of components used to in metal fabrication to support global customer base; will interface with various types of manufacturing equipment to include laser/plasma, vertical/horizontal lathes, multi-axis machining centers, and waterjet cutting; and may perform a variety of technical tasks, to include – research/development, continuous improvement project, equipment optimization, up-time tracking and tool life utilization and optimization.
Major duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Prepares product & process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Provides data and justification for CAPEX expenditures for productivity improvement or equipment replacement.
- Contributes to team success by establishing and monitoring metrics to ensure cost and productivity are met.
- Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing & planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Provides manufacturing decision-making information by analyzing production, labor, and material costs; participates in production scheduling and estimating future requirements.
- Demonstrates and employs knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts and shop floor tools (5S, Standard Work, etc.).
- Develops operator training to ensure safe and efficient use of equipment, in accordance with manufacturers’ guidelines.
- Stays current on professional knowledge and trends by attending educational workshops and seminars, as necessary.
- Evaluates manufacturing processes & designs program improvements for fabrication & assembly, collaborating with machine operators for feedback.
- Ensures equipment is operated within the guidelines and instructions set forth by the equipment manufacturers.
- Assures product & process quality by designing tests methods to align with process, contract requirement, and equipment capabilities.
- Demonstrates ownership of processes & equipment in assigned manufacturing areas.
- Demonstrates ownership of equipment maintenance by coordinating preventive maintenance and repair, per manufacturers’ instructions and recommendation.
- Develops and controls cutting/nesting & machining programs to ensure parts are machined per design specifications.
- Maintains program database per Company software storage policy.
- Provides manufacturing engineering outputs to design team to optimize product fabricability.

Ideal qualifications
All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position:
- Hands-on manufacturing experience a strong plus.
- Bachelor's degree in a science or technical field, or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree, plus a minimum of 0 to 2 years (more typically 2 plus years) of directly related technical experience.
