Job Impulse, Inc. has an immediate opening for a CNC Machinist in Whitehall, MI. The CNC Machinist is responsible for Set-up, operations, and maintaining assigned CNC machining and machining equipment in such a manner as to ensure compliance with all established policies, procedures, and work instructions. Check parts to print, utilizing various gauges and assure that all parts meet first piece quality requirements and perform all tasks per work instructions provided. Knowledge of machining operations, the ability to perform own set-ups, make off sets, edit programming, read blueprints, use and understand various gage systems such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, and plug gages.
Responsibilities Of a CNC Machinist Includes

• Maintain Tooling Log Sheets. Complete tooling changes and adjustments as required.
• Ensure all proper documentation is at workstation and perform SPC, first piece and in-process inspection, as instructed.
• Ensures work area is neat and orderly.
• Perform machine set up and off sets as required.
• Operate any of the equipment in the machining department in accordance with operator instructions while complying with all Company safety and quality assurance policies and procedures.
• Communicate with previous and future shifts operator ( s) regarding machine performance and the production run during shift overlaps.
• Performs any other duties as required.
• Maintain and fix equipment post any breakdowns.
• Check and ensure proper tooling are at your workstation.
• Complete TPM and PM in a timely manner.

Job Requirements Of a CNC Machinist
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required.

• 5-10 years of CNC machining required, including proper tooling and feed rates.
• 1-2 years of inspection of details using measuring equipment required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years of GibbsCAM preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• 1-2 years of mechanical assembly ( preferred).
• 1-2 years of AutoCAD 2D ( preferred).
