Work Schedule: Full Time, Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm
Work Location: Maternal Fetal Medicine, OBGYN Division - Women & Infants Center
Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, to perform clinical procedures to prepare patient and/or research participants for treatment or research protocol. To assist physicians or other healthcare team member with patient care procedures and/or completion of treatment/protocol. To help organize, maintain and file patient charts. To maintain flow of clinic and follow up on patient issues/needs before and after clinic. To complete daily clinic room assignment and lunch schedule for certified medical assistants. To monitor time and attendance and verify time worked in Kronos for certified medical assistants. To participate in quality improvement initiatives. To serve as the intermediary for certified medical assistant issues.

Position Requirements:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or GED required. Two (2) years of UAB Medicine experience as a certified medical assistant required.
LICENSE, CERTIFICATION AND/OR REGISTRATION:
Currently certified as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) required. If certified by another accrediting agency, AAMA or NHA certification must be obtained within six (6) months of employment. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required or must be obtained within thirty (30) days of employment.
