This person will assist in direct patient care under supervision of physician.
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare/process/log all specimens for routing to appropriate lab.
- Accurately obtain patient vitals, phlebotomy and document pertinent medical history.
- Maintain clinicalsupply inventory.
- Float to other offices within Saint Francis Healthcare
- Responsible for daily maintenance of test results, quality control, and sample medication logs.
- Maintain and manage the use of all clinical equipment.
- Assist physician during all exams and office procedures.
- Prepare instruments for transfer to sterile processing department.
- Administrative responsibilities include but are not limited to appointment scheduling, answering phones, posting charges, completing prescription requests, assisting with authorizations/referrals, and routing patient messages to physicians.
- Knowledge ofSaint Francis clinical policies and procedures as well as OSHA, HAZMAT, and Joint Commission safety and quality standards.
- Must have excellent communication and customer service skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Certificate of Completion of Medical Assistant Program – Certified MA required or must obtain within 90 days of hire.
- Previous experience in OB/GYN or physician practice setting preferred
- Previous Lead Experience highly preferred
