Job Description

The Opportunity:

When a user tries a new system, they expect it to be intuitive and run smoothly. Functionality, reliability, and user experience are key to successful information systems—and that means rigorous testing. That’s why we need you, a quality assurance analyst who’s eager to help thoroughly test software and ensure that our team releases the best system possible.

As a quality assurance consultant on our team, you’ll work with data engineers that evaluate developed systems for the Veterans Administration. You’ll help develop and implement a test plan based on user stories. Using Azure, Oracle, and AWS-based data, you’ll generate problem resolutions and track quality assurance standards to observe how the system performs, then document the results and communicate defects to the development team so they can start improving the tool. You’ll expand upon your experience in various types of testing, including manual and automated. This is an opportunity to broaden your skills in documenting, solving system deficiencies, automation, and Cloud computing. Work with us to develop systems solutions that help our nation’s veterans.

Join us. The world can’t wait.

You Have:

  • Ability to implement, build, and execute your test plan using CoTS automated tooling, including Collibra's Data Quality or Microsoft's Profisee, or script-based testing with Python or Scala
  • 3+ years of experience in a Cloud-based environment
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • Experience with Azure Tools used for data engineering and ELT, including Azure Synapse and Databricks
  • Ability to work as part of a mid-sized team, with minimal direction, and rapidly build test plans and test sets using standard test planning tools, including JIRA's X-RAY
  • Knowledge of best testing practices and patterns in a Cloud environment
  • Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of experience with testing data in a Cloud-based environment in lieu of a degree
  • Experience in querying or working with data using SQL and Python
  • Experience with analyzing and profiling data
  • Experience with building automated testing frameworks that can be used on the platform to proactively catch data issues

Nice If You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
  • Experience with Cloud-based testing tools, including Collibra's Data Quality or Talend's Data Fabric
  • Ability to integrate testing protocols to monitoring applications, including Dynatrace or Splunk
  • Azure Data Engineer Certification
  • Knowledge of JIRA and Confluence

Vetting:

Applicants selected will be subject to a government investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements of the U.S. government client.
