The NCTN Clinical Research Assistant performs general administrative and specimen coordination duties to assist the Clinical Research Support Study Support Services team in day-to-day management of oncology clinical trials in the NCI’s National Clinical Trials Network (NCTN) program. The position assists with preparing, filing, and maintaining documentation, as well as supporting all specimen and supply logistics. The position will report to the NCTN Protocol Specialist III/Team Lead in CRS.


This position will be onsite at our South Lake Union campus.


Responsibilities


  • Assist the NCTN Clinical Trials Manager with team-related tasks as needed
  • Request lab and pathology services for patient specimens
  • Assist the NCTN Program Manager with administrative duties
  • Assistance with documentation management and audit readiness activities
  • Prepare study materials for patient visits including lab kits and visit schedules
  • Pick up and deliver research specimens and related supplies at varying locations across the Fred Hutch/SCCA/UWMC campus
  • Organization of patient charts for research coordinators
  • Maintain specimen supply, shipping supply, and chart supply inventories


Qualifications


Experience and Abilities


  • 2 years in a medical or clinical research setting
  • Experience with medical terminology
  • Experience in customer service settings
  • Ability to multi-task and complete projects with multiple concurrent deadlines
  • Task-oriented and thrives on a team
  • Excellent organizational skills and acute attention to detail
  • High School diploma or GED


Knowledge and Skills


  • Proficient in standard office software packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.)
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Has a desire to receive mentoring in clinical research skill sets and career development, especially in the area of NCI research programs
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

The hourly pay range for this position is from $22.64 to $32.23 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
