Job Description
  • Position Summary:



Assists the Director of Surgical Operations/ACNO with the responsibility and accountability for the management and coordination of the unit. Emphasis on independent decision making related to the nursing process. Demonstrates the ability to provide consistent direction for all nursing personnel in planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating nursing practices.
Qualifications
  • Education:
Hold a current Texaspermit or license as a Registered Nurse. BSN required (or actively pursuing). Master’s preferred.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart
  • Current BLS Certification through the American Heart Association upon hire or transfer to department.
  • Training and Experience:
Association within 6 months of hire or transfer to department.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through the American
Heart Association within 12 months of hire or transfer to
department.
  • Clinical Carnival required annually.
  • Minimal Lift required annually.
  • Three years of full-time Nursing experience with a minimum of one
year of Operating Room experience.
  • Demonstrate appropriate leadership skills within (3) months of hire
or transfer to department.
  • CNOR preferred.
  • Preferred Training & Certification:
  • Trauma Norse Core Curriculum (TNCC) preferred.
