Maxor Clinical Operation is looking for a Clinical Associate Supervisor for this growing team. The Clinical Associate Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the clinical associates department, including scheduling, work flow, and training. Under general supervision, provides assistance to members, pharmacists, physicians, clients, and professional staff regarding prescription services and prior authorization activities in accordance with established policies and procedures, laws, and regulations. Reviews prescription prior authorizations and enters plan design setup and changes in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm CST. May be required to work rotating shifts, including holidays, weekends, nights, and on-call.

- Work with clinical and account team members, Advocate Support Center, and in developing and carrying out various clinical initiatives.
- Assist Account Managers as needed in the generation of Annual or Quarterly Plan Benefit Review Summary and Recommendation Reports.
- Ensure staff is informed of product upgrades or enhancements in a timely manner.
- Assist the Manager, Formulary Operations in the development of clinical, utilization management, ad hoc and production reports and programs.
- Participate in the development and implementation of the Performance Improvement Program.
- Assist Account Managers as needed to address client requests or issues.
- Facilitate meetings by coordinating arrangements and preparing agenda including coordination of video/conference calls.
- Conduct initial and annual performance evaluations.
- Assist Manager, Clinical Operations in overseeing clinical associates and administrative procedures.
- Generate and review standard monthly reports, quarterly physician report cards, and monthly prior authorization reports.
- Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Hire and train competent staff.
- Promptly report any allegations of impropriety to the Compliance Department.
- Contact providers to gather clinical information and to discuss individual member cases.
- Contact and confer with pharmacists and physicians regarding questions or irregularities on prescriptions.
- Complete required training and ensure the departmental staff training is completed as required.
- Comply with Maxor’s Ethical Business Conduct policy and Maxor’s Compliance Program.
- Assist with calendaring and scheduling meetings for the clinical department.
- Assist in the development, preparation, and management of formularies, preferred drug lists, prior authorization criteria and step therapy protocols.
- Promote teamwork; discipline staff when warranted.
- Work cooperatively with other staff members to enhance the team concept.
- Assist Manager, Clinical Operations in the coordination of proprietary clinical software and interface with IT staff.
- Review prior authorization requests using predetermined criteria and other medication resources.
- On a biweekly basis, verify departmental timesheets for departmental employees ensuring the timesheets are accurate based on the work-schedule and necessary corrections are done prior to timely Payroll submission.
- Attend and participate in other programs, committees, meetings, and functions as required.
- Remain free from exclusion under the OIG and SAMS Medicare/Medicaid lists.
- Ensure procedures are in place for Clinical Associates.
- Develop and mentor departmental staff by providing career coaching; motivate departmental staff, individually and as a group; understand and support diversity; and establish an effective team.
- Review non-formulary drug requests using predetermined criteria.
- Maintain current knowledge of plan specifications and requirements.
Education: High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent abilities and skills required. Certified Pharmacy Technician required. Must be licensed in, and in good standing.
Experience: At least one-year clinical pharmacy experience. One to two years’ experience in the managed care and pharmacy benefit management (PBM) industries. Previous leadership experience preferred.

- Ability to clearly communicate medical information to professional practitioners and/or the general public.
- Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures.
- Good computer skills in general with the ability to learn new software programs and applications
- Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
- Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
- Strong focus on work quality.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and schedule work assignments.
