Minimum Qualifications Provisional Minimum Qualifications:A Bachelor’s degree in atmospheric science, biology, chemistry, coastal resources management, communications, ecology, economics, ecosystem management, engineering, environmental health, environmental science, environmental studies, forestry, geography, geology, hydrology, marine science, meteorology, natural resources, natural science, physical science, physics, planning, public administration, public policy, public policy and management, sustainability, transportation planning, wildlife science, or zoologyReassignment - Currently in the title and an employee of DECORReinstatement Eligible - Previously held the title on a permanent competitive basis or held a title as indicated under the transfer eligible section on a permanent competitive basis.55-b/55-c Candidates must meet the open competitive minimum qualifications and include with their resume or application, a copy of the letter from Civil Service which indicates approval for the 55-b/55-c program.

Duties Description The incumbent will be responsible for the continued coordination and facilitation for the Climate Justice Working Group and the Climate Justice Working Group Technical Team. The candidate would regularly communicate with contractors on identifying updated sources for indicators and compiling a report on current and potential indicators for the Disadvantaged Communities Criteria. The candidate would also be responsible for updates to the DAC maps as well as coordinating with DEC's communications staff to schedule internal and CJWG meetings. The candidate would also need to work with DEC's legislative team to track potential legislative issues related to the CJWG and climate justice, and work closely with Climate Change and EJ counsel to assure on the implementation of legislatively mandated policies on climate justice, including the development of frameworks to measure and track statewide investments pursuant to the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act. Lastly, this person would coordinate with state entities to implement and maintain a benefits framework for disadvantaged communities
