Equitable Life Distribution is seeking an Engagement Manager, a person with exceptional customer service abilities and robust technical and operational knowledge to serve and support our directly appointed agents within our independent distribution channel. This highly motivated and talented individual will play a pivotal role in building strong partner relationships within their assigned territories by acting as a critical liaison to their firms and agents. This includes being accountable for the end-to-end account management experience for assigned territories including agent and firm onboarding, technology guidance, business process success, and both pre and post-sale agent support. This individual will also play a critical role in ensuring that all agent needs are responded to proactively and resolved while creating an exceptional end-to-end user experience for our Agents. Desired candidates will be driven in their focus on the producer experience, be coachable and excited to learn and grow along with our strategy.
Responsibilities include:
  • Create an exceptional customer experience by guiding business from initiation to compensation, while making any transactions easy for advisors to execute so they can focus on their clients.
  • Grow advisor flow business with our unique program and platform offerings, a consultative mindset, and willingness to go above and beyond to serve our customers.
  • Supports all advisor appointment, illustration, application, technology and service needs for both pre and post-sale situations; must also possess the ability to provide solutions to unique situations and pro-actively advocate on the producer’s behalf with other areas of the business.
  • Build solid relationships with their accounts and advisors by acting as a critical partner for all advisors in their territory
  • Owning both the initial and ongoing experience for all accounts and advisors assigned their territory. This comprises all components of onboarding including individual requirements definition and execution coordination for the licensing and appointments experience, technology engagement, and advisor education on how to conduct business on the Equitable and Assemblis platforms.
  • Owns the education and support or our advisors on Equitable’ s technology enablers including our website portal, onboarding portal, illustration system, eApp, and other self-service tools.
The base salary range for this position is $67,000-$100,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience working with Life Insurance advisors in either a Retail or Independent channel with point-of-sale support preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Possess a passion and drive around providing an excellent advisor experience, with the ability to position things from the advisor perspective to determine the best way forward.
  • A solution-based mindset and creative thinking skills
  • Ability to successfully manage internal relationships and collaborate with stakeholders and be customer-focused on the agent.
  • FINRA Series 6, 63 and Life and Health licenses are preferred
  • Deep knowledge of the Life Insurance business, including sales and customer service skills and the ability to serve advisor’s needs at every step of the process.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with ability to prioritize and work on numerous responsibilities at one time.
  • Self-motivated, work both independently and as a team, and have strong desire to exceed goals.
  • Account management, project planning and problem-solving experience preferred
  • Strong computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SalesForce, Adobe)
  • Prior experience as a top-performing Internal Wholesaler or BGA Case Manager experience is highly preferred.
  • Robust knowledge of the inner workings of Equitable’ s home office, and what is needed to move business forward at every step is a plus
  • Understanding of Equitable’ s solutions, product portfolio and illustration capabilities.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Knowledge of collaborative techniques and approaches; ability to promote a culture of continuous improvement and working together across functions to solve business problems and meet business goals.
Effective Presentations: Knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques; ability to present information to groups with the appropriate degree of formality.
Financial Planning Instruments (Pensions, Annuities, etc.): Knowledge of financial planning products, market segments and marketplaces; ability to analyze and apply knowledge of financial planning products to meet financial goals and objectives.
Financial Services Industry: Knowledge of financial services industry trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations and trendsetters; ability to provide specific financial advice to clients.
