- Plan for, implement and take accountability for the operational plan for the designated area.
- Implement and control the designated claims process and audit capability.
- Ensure that statistics for the designated area are reviewed and reported on, corrective action taken, as required.
- Manage BEE procurement targets.
- Deal with and resolve National Claims and Ombudsman complaints in an efficient and effective manner in terms of complex / technical claims.
- Manage relationships relating to the non- payment of claims
- Identify problem areas within the claims service value chain and to find suitable solutions.
- Manage claims spend in line with growth cost per claims targets. (Average cost of claim.)
- Identify, control, manage and minimise operational risks, fraud and claims leakage.
- Act as technical advisor by educating all stakeholders about claims processes and procedures and Terms and Conditions of Policy.
- Ensure adherence to organisational policies, practices, guides, mandates and procedures.
- Ensure statutory and legislative knowledge is always current in order to resolve customer complaints, to advise the business on corrective solutions to mitigate risks and to improve the customer experience whilst complying with governance requirements.
- Identify solutions to enhance cost effectiveness and increase operational efficiency.
- Maintain service, quality and desired outputs within a specific functional process through ensuring compliance to tactical policies, procedures and standards.
- Share knowledge on, and participate in the creation of new standards, control systems and procedures to maintain service delivery.
- Establish productive operational relationships with key stakeholders in the various channels and administrative teams.
- Develop work routines in line with operational plans / schedules in order to manage achievement of service delivery goals.
- Operate within agreed mandates.
- Comply with corporate governance policies, procedures and standards.
- Proactively ensure use of time, of resources, money, materials or equipment is in line with policies and procedures.
- Foster favourable relationships with staff at all levels to create a mentorship environment.
- 5 years trade credit Claims technical experience.
- Actively participate in own professional development and career path.
- Matric & BCom qualification / NQF level 5 or higher
- Align own behaviour with the organisation culture and values.
- Share and transfer product, process and systems knowledge to colleagues.
- RE 1 (FAIS EXAM)
- 10 years relevant experience of which at least 3 years should have been in a management capacity/ leadership role.
- Ensure achievement of own performance objectives.
- Actively share information with other team members regarding successes, issues, trends and ideas.
- Actively promote a culture of learning and high performance culture amongst team members.
