Job Description
This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (a maximum of 20 hours per week) Civil and Constructing Engineering Office Position for the College of Engineering at Oregon State University (OSU).
The School of Civil and Construction Engineering (CCE) is recruiting for a part-time office position. We are looking for an individual who has experience working and upholding high standards of customer service at all times.
Position Duties
  • Input data in spreadsheets, organize electronic and hard-copy files
  • Assist with maintaining an orderly, neat, and clean appearance of offices and conference rooms
  • Provide backup support for the reception area which includes answering phones, creating emails, and handling visitors’ queries and questions
  • Prepare meeting and event materials, such as name badges, table tents, and agendas

  • Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
  • Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
  • Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*
  • Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
  • High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
  • Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
  • Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
    • High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
    • Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
    • Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
    • Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
    • Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

  • Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study

  • International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered “full-time” by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
Additional Required Qualifications Preferred (Special) Qualifications
  • Demonstrable skill to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Flexibility to switch between tasks to achieve goals in a dynamic environment
  • Attention to detail and high organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Proficiency using Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook or similar platforms
  • Strong written communication skills and ability to proofread copy for grammatical errors
  • Ability to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently
Working Conditions / Work Schedule
The individual will work a minimum of 10 hours a week between the hours of 8 am – 5 pm, Monday – Friday (some evening work may be required). Work hours will be scheduled in coordination with other student workers and will vary from term to term depending on class schedules.
This is a part-time position with a minimum of 10 hours a week between the hours of 8 am – 5 pm, Monday – Friday (some evening work may be required). The student worker may be required to work up to an approximate 20 hours per week.
