Non-Exempt, Union, Full Time
Salary Grade: G $31.15/hour to $33.30/hour
JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for preparing and implementing planning projects across key areas of priority and focus for the City as identified in the Comprehensive Plan. The community planner is responsible for providing professional planning expertise and serving as staff liaison to subject matter and neighborhood committees, including but not limited to housing, economic development, sustainability, and addressing climate change. The position includes a significant emphasis on community engagement, may serve as the lead staff to City committees or task forces, and works closely with City departments, and community groups to develop and implement City policy.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A Master’s Degree in urban design, community development, urban planning, landscape architecture, engineering, public administration, natural resources planning, or a closely related field, plus three years’ experience in local, regional or state planning required, equivalency considered. Two years additional experience may be substituted for a Master’s Degree provided the Bachelor’s Degree is in a planning or closely related field.
