Jacobs is currently seeking a self-motivated, part-time Chief Pilot to join a multi-disciplinary team of operations and engineering personnel tasked with digital aerial mapping operations using a fleet of nationally deployed aircraft. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, the Chief Pilot will be responsible for oversight of the Aeroptic Pilot Program. He/she will be a subject matter expert in all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) with particular emphasis on Part 91 operations. The Chief pilot will be solely responsible for drafting, distributing and updating all applicable manuals, references and procedures to include flight operations (FOM) and Safety Management Systems (SMS) Manuals. He/she will maintain all associated pilot and currency records. The Chief Pilot will have relevant industry experience in remote sensing. He/she must hold a robust level of current, relevant flight and aviation management experience. The Chief Pilot can expect to administer biennial flight reviews (BFRs), check flights and competency checks. In addition, the Chief pilot will be responsible for the scheduling and conduct of pilot ground and flight qualification training. He/she must have outstanding organizational and communications skills, be self-disciplined and possess the ability to timely accomplish all implied and specified tasks. He/she should require little to no daily supervision and must work efficiently and productively in both in-office and remote settings.

Duties:

• Maintain record oversight of pilot qualifications and records to include BFRs, Medicals and subcontracts
• Conduct new pilot qualification and recurrency training
• Attend all required company aviation flight and safety training
• Create and maintain library of instruction materials related to survey flying, sensors systems, weight and balance practices and daily responsibilities.
• Draft and maintain library of company flight and safety policies and procedures

Here’s What You’ll Need:

• 500 hours PIC
• Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Project
• Remote sensing pilot experience
• FAA Commercial Instrument Pilot Certification-ASEL
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• FAA Certified Flight Instructor-ASEL
• 100 hours High Performance
• Ability to multi-task and manage several projects simultaneously
• Live within commuting distance of KLWM, North Andover, MA
• Outstanding administrative skills

Preferred:

• Flight school instructor experience
• Aviation safety training and experience
• Instrument Instructor-ASEL
• Experience drafting aviation policies and procedures
• Experience working with DoD programs
