Chief Operations Manager & Training Facilitator – Manchester, NH (Full-time)

This position is responsible for management activities, including establishing department development plans for installation, service, and maintenance. This person will also be managing the sales department and helping to grow company sales. This individual will be responsible for following and enforcing policies and procedures to ensure the company fulfills its contractual obligations for service repair, installations, and maintenance in accordance with profit objectives and directives. This person will coordinates all of the activity between the office and the field.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Communicate and monitor goals.
  • Harness a safety culture.
  • Facilitate weekly meetings.
  • 1/3 of your time should be spent Recruiting the right Team Members, 1/3 of your time should be spent Training those team members, and then the last 1/3 should be spent Supervising, Administrating, and Motivating your team. Manage your time in these proportions and you will be a successful Manager.
  • Manage workload and schedules to best utilize manpower and maximizes profits.
  • Achieve budgeted gross margin and meet or exceed all company goals.
  • Ensure all team members comply with OSHA safety standards.
  • Obey and teach the company Code of Ethics Team Rules and Team Philosophy.
  • Ensure all repairs and installations are completed to the highest quality standards and if necessary all permits are obtained.
  • Responsible for Training Faclitator role and duties to educate and maintain records of curriculum and materials and gathering feedback on the quality of trainings from team.
  • Perform clerical duties associated with, but not limited to, field technician paperwork, personnel evaluations, and expense reports.
  • Ensure all department operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, federal, and company requirements.
  • Review and approve new products and services.
  • Ensure technicians are being dispatched effectively.
  • Directly responsible for recruiting, interviewing, training, managing, and evaluating field technicians.
  • Provide feedback to managers regarding market trends, revenue opportunities, customer issues, and all issues relevant to the business.
  • Responsible for sales development and helping the company grow in revenue/size; maximize lead opportunities, and retain and grow Club Membership clients.
  • Carry out additional duties assigned by the General Manager or Owner.
  • Conduct ride-a-longs with technicians and provide feedback.
  • Assist technicians with issues while in the field.
  • Resolve customer issues or concerns to ensure complete satisfaction.
  • Manage and stay within the departmental budget.
  • Manage inventory, equipment, and service fleet.
  • Supervise and lead HVAC Service Technicians and Installation Crew.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must have experience running the operations and service department of a home-services company.
  • Education minimum: High School Diploma.
  • Minimum 5 years of prior experience in all around residential and commercial HVAC, plumbing, & electrical and presents strong leadership in those competencies.
  • Experience as a Training Facilitator or acting as one in previous positions with experience in developing curriculum.
  • Must have a Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must enjoy working with staff on all levels to support professional and sales goals. Must be comfortable educating the service technicians on consulting/educating the customer and providing them with the different options to resolve their HVAC/Plumbing/Electrical issues.
  • Understanding of accounting and finance as it relates to the industry.
  • Experience in helping to build a company’s growth & revenue.

Physical Demands:

  • Climbing up and down stairs from time to time.
  • Moderate lifting may be required (15-20) pounds.
  • Ability to work more than 40 hours per work week and up to 12 hours per day.
