Napa Valley Community Housing is seeking driven individual with a passion for transforming internal business operations to join its team as Chief Operating Officer (COO). This high-level role, positioned as the CEO’s second in command, is critical to our plans for bringing the organization into its next phase. The COO will be responsible for managing the organization’s structure, business processes and systems, providing key oversight, fostering collaboration, and implementing new strategies to improve efficiency and communication across all departments and business lines.
The COO will work closely with the CEO, acting as their internal complement and right hand, to oversee the overall internal organization. As such, the scope and responsibilities of the role may change depending on the strategic direction of the organization.
The COO’s key responsibilities will be to maintainand driving operational results within thecompany with a focus on organizational structure, compliance and asset management.
A successful candidate will have a solid understanding of key business functions like HR, Finance, Fundraising, Asset Management, Housing and Development compliance, outsourced vendor management, with a strong background in non-profit and affordable housing. We are seeking an empathetic, strategic thinker capable of leveraging the organization’s people and resources of to reach their potential.
Responsibilities
- Participate in strategic conversations and activities about the organization’s future, playing a key role in developing partnerships and other high-level relationships key to the organization’s future.
- Work with department heads to assess, evaluate, and recommend tools, processes, and best practices to support teams’ success
- Develop, plan and execute initiatives to drive operational success across the organization; identifying gaps, overlap, and redundancies in processes and communication
- Collaborate with departmental leaders to establish efficiencies within individual departments and across the organization; build relationships within the organization to foster trust, collaboration, and communication
- Recommend, establish, and monitor performance goals and metrics for overall organization and departments
- Oversee daily operations of internal organization, including G&A, Property Management, Resident Services, and Development
- Ensure Company has proper operational controls, procedures, and highly trained and talented workforce in place to effectively grow the organization and to ensure its stability
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a senior leadership role at a Real Estate Development, Property Management, or similar organization
- 10 years of experience in operational roles in Real Estate Development, Property Management, or related industries
- Bilingual Spanish is a plus
