Job Description

A leading sustainable materials company that specializes in the development and production of innovative bioplastics is seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our executive team. As the COO, you will be responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of our business, ensuring operational excellence, and driving growth. You will work closely with the CEO and other key stakeholders to develop and execute strategic initiatives that support our mission and vision.


Responsibilities:

  • Identify and mitigate operational risks, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures that align with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Provide strategic leadership and operational direction to drive the company's growth and profitability.
  • Foster a positive and high-performance culture, attracting, developing, and retaining top talent within the organization.
  • Drive innovation and technology adoption to enhance operational capabilities and maintain a competitive edge in the market.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective coordination and communication, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Optimize operational processes and systems to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality across all departments.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and executive team in strategic planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement metrics to assess operational performance and identify areas for improvement.


Requirements:

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • In-depth knowledge of operational processes, quality management, and supply chain operations.
  • Strong business acumen and a track record of driving operational excellence, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • Proven experience in a senior operational leadership role, preferably within the manufacturing or materials industry.
  • Experience in driving innovation, technology adoption, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams toward common goals.
  • Familiarity with sustainability practices and knowledge of bioplastics or related industries is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, business development, and change management.
