Position Overview:

As the Chief Operating Officer, you will play a pivotal role in driving the strategic direction and operational execution of De3 Inc. Working with and reporting directly to the CEO/Founder while working closely with the Directors, you will lead cross-functional teams, foster innovation, and create synergies across our pathogen detection, machine learning, and biosurfactant remediation divisions. Your exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and operational expertise will be critical in scaling our business and achieving our long-term goals. Moving into the role of CEO of the company can also be achieved.

Responsibilities:

• Identify and evaluate strategic partnerships, business development opportunities, and potential areas for expansion.
• Help manage the company's financial health, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation.
• Lead efforts to secure funding, grants, and investments to support the company's growth trajectory.
• Collaborate with the CEO and Directors to refine and execute the company's strategic vision, mission, and goals.
• Monitor industry trends, competitive landscapes, and regulatory developments to ensure the company remains at the forefront of innovation.
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, partners, and regulatory bodies.
• Provide leadership and guidance to functional teams, promoting a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
• Champion a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization.
• Oversee the development and implementation of operational strategies to optimize efficiency, quality, and growth from a pre-revenue company to a revenue-generating company.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and evolving startup environment.
• Experience in successfully scaling a startup or early-stage company, ideally with exposure to pathogen detection, machine learning, or environmental remediation/chemical industry.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and influence teams, stakeholders, and investors.
• Understanding of biotechnology is welcomed, with the ability to bridge the gap between scientific innovation and business strategy.
• Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Ideally, a track record of successful fundraising through multiple rounds (Seed through IPO).
• Passion for sustainability, technology-driven solutions, and making a positive impact on global challenges.
• Proven track record of executive leadership and operational management in the biotech or related industry.
