We are seeking a senior executive leader with a proven track record in business innovation, product and software development, systems infrastructure, and database architecture to provide strategic and operational leadership that helps us achieve product-market fit and transform our organization into a sustainable and scalable organization. Our team, and our partners, require a person with a passion for bettering the lives of children and the ability to inspire similar passion within our organization.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead technology integration solutions with partners in the child development and non-profit sectors.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and investors.
  • Succeed with the team while helping to grow the bottom line through innovation in the product and business models.
  • Develop and execute an effective go-to-market product strategy to drive customer acquisition and growth.
  • Refine the company's vision and strategy while working closely with board members, investors, advisors, and stakeholders.
  • Specific technology responsibilities include planning, assigning resources, functional design, setting reasonable timelines, liaising with end-users, and building teams to produce project deliverables.
  • Oversee the engineering team to address technical debt, modernize the legacy software, and build a robust software architecture.
  • Accountable for metrics, reporting and trend/exception analysis, and the company's finances, ensuring that the organization is financially stable and sustainable with proficiency to produce precise financial analysis, budgeting and financial reporting and reduction of expenses.
  • Oversee performance and quality systems. Ensure documentation and analysis of user requirements, procedures, and problem resolutions to automate or improve existing systems and review capabilities, workflow, readiness metrics, test case execution, and scheduling limitations.
  • Empowered to lead the product development process, ensuring a product-first approach to achieve product-market fit.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the company, attracting and retaining top talent.
  • Ensure viability of hardware infrastructure including evaluation and planning for employee hardware, on-prem servers, and cloud usage.


Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Experience leading in an Agile development environment and in application development with human-centered design.
  • Proficient in the following: Microsoft ASP.NET Forms web development (C#); Microsoft SQL Server, or similar relational database; Angular, or another modern JS framework (React.js, Ember.js); HTML / CSS Principles; REST API Web Services;Test-Driven Design Principles; Version Control Software (Git); Development supporting data privacy and security for GDPR, HIPAA, FERPA applications; Test Frameworks (Jasmine, Karma).
  • Experience in the early childhood, education, and/or health care sectors space is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Proven track record of developing and launching successful products.
  • Proven project management skills to start projects, facilitate consistent progress, and finish projects successfully.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Engineering, Computer Science, Human-Centered Design, Web and Mobile Computing or related technical field. Master’s Degree or MBA Preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive company-wide initiatives.
  • Expertise in product design, software engineering, database design and systems architecture.
  • Analytical, computer, math and problem-solving skills to be able to use and explain software to nontechnical audiences.
  • Experience as a founder or co-founder in a successful startup (or related experience) is a plus.
  • 7+years of experience managing technical teams, while planning and executing commercialization.
