Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering project within area of assigned responsibility by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

As a Chief Engineer you will:

  • Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
  • Directs integration of technical activities and products.
  • Prepares interim and completion project reports.
  • Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
  • Assigns project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and product testing.
  • Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
  • Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget.
  • Plans and formulates engineering program and organizes project staff according to project requirements.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise all Engineering personnel. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Also supervises non-supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


Qualifications
  • Possess operational experience and understanding of engineering, housekeeping, front desk, whole ownership, and retail management.
  • Strong knowledge of Forbes 5 star hotel ratings.
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university

Requirements:

  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays and be flexible.
  • One to two years related experience as a department head in an hotel operations role.
  • Luxury hotel experience.
